Colorado Springs Real Estate by Hughes

Take a weekend trip to the historic town of Taos, New Mexico

Take a scenic weekend trip (approx. 4 hours) from Colorado Springs to Taos, enjoy the art scene and visit one of the over 80 galleries, go fishing or hike on one of the many trails, visit their great farmers' market, and don't forget to explore the Taos Pueblo.

Stay at our favorite Bed & Berakfast, La Posada de Taos, mention The Hughes Team and receive a 10 percent discount. La Posada de Taos Bed & Breakfast is a historic adobe inn in a quiet location just two blocks from the Taos Plaza. The guest rooms are each decorated in a style true to Taos and original artwork adorns the walls throughout the home. The gourmet breakfast is always something to look forward to. The charming host Brad makes sure yours is a pleasant stay.

Then there are some outstanding restaurants: Our favorite El Meze just received the 2011 Best Chef in Taos award. Romantic setting, beautiful decor, delicious meals and dreamy desserts. A more casual restaurant Dragonfly Cafe and Restaurant serves great breakfasts and outstanding dinners. We went with a group of ten for dinner and everybody loved their choice of meal. There is also THE BEST mexican restaurant in Ranchos de Taos: Ranchos Plaza Grill. A deceiving name as this is a restaurant with some of the best mexican food we have ever eaten. Located in a beautiful old adobe with outside dining, adjacent to the famous St. Francis of Assisi Church, it provides the perfect ambiance for its outstanding traditional dishes. This may not be the place to order a prime rib. Don't go for Sunday lunch because the restaurant will be filled with churchgoers.
