Energy industry gives boost to Colorado incomesThe U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis reported that Colorado's booming energy industry helped boost incomes in the state faster than the national average last year, providing for the most growth in five years. Personal income by Colorado residents jumped 5.7 percent from a year earlier. Earnings growth in the mining industry and the professional and technical services sector were the two largest contributors to Colorado's income growth in 2011.

Bass Pro Shop coming to Colorado SpringsCopper Ridge plans to open the 117,000 sq. ft. Bass Pro Shop in the Copper Ridge Shopping Center at Northgate in northern Colorado Springs in summer of 2013. A resort described as a "log and rock decor" and family sized, themed suites and a 30,000 sq.ft. indoor-outdoor water park will be part of the project and are scheduled to open in 2014. The Copper Ridge project calls for an enclosed mall and an open air lifestyle center, along with box stores, so called junior anchors, restaurants and smaller shops, and a 12 screen movie theater complex.
