An economist expects the local economy to expand next year as major construction projects are planned, (Fort Carson expansion, the Southern Delivery System water pipeline, several apartment complexes), continued population growth, a resurgence of entrepreneurship, private sector company growth to replace expected government job losses, and a modest resurgence of home building as the worst of the foreclosure crises is over in Colorado Springs.
