The 28th annual Gazette-El Pomar Foundation Empty Stocking Fund provides resources for 15 local health and human service agencies dedicated to helping people in crisis and assisting others in attaining self-sufficiency. In 2010, the Empty Stocking Fund raised more than $1 million and hopes to do it again this year to meet the growing demand for services in our community. 9 Ways to keep lid on energy bills

This article gives information on where you may have drafts in your home and how to take care of them:

Doors and Windows Gaps between siding and windows: Use a bead of clear or paintable acrylic latex caulk. Larger gaps use foam backer rod before applying caulking.

Exterior Penetration Exterior faucets, dryer vents, electrical outlets, light fixtures, etc. Closing these penetrations may require caulking, expanding spray foam, or specific gaskets that are designed to fir the boxes.

Exhaust Vent Covers  Dryer vents, range hood vents, bath fan vents, and other interior ventilation equipment typically terminate outside the house in a plastic or metal cover that has one or more louvers on it. Click here for details
